The stamping die, commonly known as the cold stamping die, is a relatively special process equipment. Before manufacturing the die, the stamping process design needs to be carried out, mainly including the process plan, process size, design drawings, equipment type, economic budget and other aspects. In addition, the raw materials of the stamping die can be metallic or non-metallic materials.
1、 Material selection of stamping die
The material types of stamping die include steel, cemented carbide, steel-bonded cemented carbide, zinc base alloy, low melting point alloy, aluminum bronze, polymer material, etc. At present, the material of stamping die is mainly steel, and the commonly used types are carbon tool steel, low alloy tool steel, high carbon and high chromium, medium carbon alloy steel, high speed steel, base steel, cemented carbide, steel-bonded cemented carbide, etc.
The materials for making stamping dies should have high hardness, strength and wear resistance, and also require appropriate toughness and high hardenability. In order to ensure the service life of die products, raw materials should be selected according to the use, stress condition, production batch, production efficiency and working state of the die.
2、 Characteristics and advantages of stamping die
1. The number of parts completed by the stamping die per unit time is several times, or even hundreds to thousands of times, of the general processing method. Moreover, the stamping process can adopt the combined processing method on a group of moulds to further improve the production efficiency.
2. The products produced by stamping die have the characteristics of stable quality, strong mechanical properties, compact structure, good interchangeability, good wear resistance, easy maintenance and batch production.
3. The material utilization rate of stamping die is high, and multiple layout methods can be adopted, such as cross, oblique, multi-row, mixed, nested cutting, etc., which can reduce the material cost of products.
4. Generally, there is no need to heat the material during the stamping process, which not only saves energy, reduces the occupation of heating equipment and site, but also avoids the oxidation, burn and deformation of the product surface caused by heating.
5. The stamping die is widely used, which can solve the operation that cannot be or is difficult to complete by general processing methods, especially for the processing of thin, soft, difficult and micro-parts.
Finally, the processing process of the stamping die is very simple, the technical requirements for operators are not high, and the labor intensity is low. After receiving short-term work training, workers can start to work. And in the process of operation, the basic actions of workers are the same, not affected by the complexity of the product.
